Did you know that October is National Pizza Month? We are excited to celebrate by showing off some fabulous gluten-free pizzas!
The history of pizza in the United States dates back to World War II, when American soldiers who fought in Italy brought back a hunger for pizza. Since then, this fabulous dish of consisting of a flat, round base of dough baked with a topping of tomato sauce and cheese, typically with added meat or vegetables, from Italy, has won the hearts of people from around the world. And, why not? It’s a fun and easy way to enjoy your favorite foods all together in one dish!
National Pizza Month, first observed in the United States during 1984, was designated for October by Gerry Durnell, the founder of Pizza Today magazine. A pizzeria owner himself, Durnell realized there were no publications to support the pizza industry. So, he created the pizza-oriented magazine – along with National Pizza Month – to solve his problem.
These days, National Pizza Month is celebrated every October and we encourage you to celebrate along with us! What are your favorite pizza pies? Here are some really great gluten-free pizzas to get you excited.
